This website is now less WIP than before, but still pretty WIP. But at least it now has links and stuff!

About

Mahou Shoujo Boardgame Project is a tactics boardgame featuring Magical Girls from many franchises (as of now we've got Madoka Magica and working on more), where players assemble teams of Magical Girl units and battle it out on hex-based maps. Each turn, both players alternate in activating their Magical Girls and then acting with them, giving the game a back-and-forth flow. Essential elements of Magical Girl combat like ranged and melee combat, abilities and magic, use of terrain and cover as well as morale and more are also simulated in the game's mechanics and rules.

The game's features a current roster of 42 available units and counting, but is also very modular, allowing for easy creation of new characters and idea pitches, so if there is a magical girl or an OC you really want to see, it's not a problem to implement them!

Since we currently don't produce any physical components, the game is instead created for, and played in the VASSAL boardgame emulator.

VASSAL Tabletop Engine

VASSAL is an open-source emulator that allows for playing boardgames on PC. It lets you play alone (Solitaire), hotseat or connect with other players through a VASSAL server. The links for both the VASSAL engine and for the game itself are in Downloads + Links.
