This website is now less WIP than before, but still pretty WIP. But at least it now has links and stuff!

About
Mahou Shoujo Boardgame Project is a tactics boardgame featuring Magical Girls from many franchises (although for now it's just Madoka Magica), where players assemble teams of Magical Girl units and battle it out on hex-based maps. Each turn, both players plot their actions in secret without knowing what the other side is planning, and then execute them over the course of a turn without an ability to adjust or take them back.
The game's mechanics feature ranged and melee combat, character-unique stats and abilities with various effects, varied maps with terrain effects and "signature moves" that can only be used once per battle but have very powerful effects.
Since we currently don't produce any physical components, the game is instead created for, and played in the VASSAL boardgame emulator.
VASSAL Tabletop Engine
VASSAL is an open-source emulator that allows for playing boardgames on PC. It lets you alone, hotseat or for connect with other players through a VASSAL server. The links for both the VASSAL engine and for the game itself are in Downloads + Links.
WIP Status
The Game is currently playable. There are many characters to choose from that we've mostly tried to keep balanced, although the support/utility archetypes are currently a bit lacking. Two different maps are available. We are looking for playtesters that will just mess around with the game and give some opinions on how it plays.
